  • Programming with Phiro Code

Phiro Code is a simple and visual user interface that enables a playful implementation of your own ideas. With Phiro Code you can go about creating your own games, interactive animations and apps for your mobile devices. The course is designed for for anyone who is interested in learning how to code and create their own Apps. Students taking this course will learn how to use the 5 fundamental Computer Science programming concepts such as sequencing, algorithms, conditionals, loops and debugging as well as delve into other advanced programming concepts such as variables, events or parallelism.
Themes and Modules Learning Outcomes
What is Phiro Code? Learn about the Phiro Code programming platform, how to install it on your device.
How to begin a new project? Learn how to begin a new Phiro Code program, explore the program interface and explore the Phiro Code object media library & learn how to add & program a new actor/object.
What are Actors in Phiro Code? Learn to code a program to change the appearance of a Phiro Code actor/object and create the code to program the object to make sounds when it is tapped upon.
What is a Stage in Phiro Code? Learn how to position an object along the XY coordinates anywhere on the Stage and design a program to change the background graphics of the Stage.
How to Create & Program your own object? Learn to create your own programmable object that can be used in Phiro Code programs and learn how to use Loops in your programs using your original object.
What is Randomization? Build a program that will generate random coordinate values for an animation program.
Can we send signals? Learn how to use the Broadcast command to send signals between objects in a game program.
How do we integrate sensors? Learn how to use your phone's sensors to control an animation in Phiro Code
What are Conditionals? Learn how to integrate IF-THEN-statements with the sound sensor to meet certain criteria in a program
Can we code a Gravity effect? Learn how to integrate a physics engine effect called Gravity in an animation program.
Is is possible to make objects collide? Learn how to integrate the Collisions physics engine effect to cause objects to collide with each other.
